Lillian Swift
July 3, 1922 - November 4, 2014
It is with tender sadness that the family of Lillian (Lilly) Swift announces her passing on November 4, 2014 at the age of 92 in Ottawa, Ontario
Lilly deeply touched the hearts of many and will be missed in our lives forever.
Lilly was born on July 3rd, 1922 in Flume Ridge, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of the late James Patrick and Elizabeth (Quinn) Sullivan and treasured wife of the late John Daniel (Johnny) Swift.
Lilly was an active member of the Fredericton community. Her sense of style was legendary in the city. She loved golf and walking the woods and bridges of Fredericton.
Lilly worked for many years at the stock exchange for Russ Lambert and was later a long time employee of N.B. Power.
Lilly is survived by her daughter Lynne (Doug) Godfrey of Banff, Alberta and her son Stephen (Carmelle) of Ottawa, Ontario; her grandchildren Southorn Godfrey of Toronto, Michael Swift and Danielle Swift (Robert Chamberland) of Ottawa, her great-granddaughter Vanesssa Chamberland as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Frank Sullivan and her sisters Theresa, Rita, Helen, Marg and Marion.
Our family would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Madonna Nursing Home, in Orleans, Ontario, for their loving care of Lilly.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Lilly’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
