HURTUBISE, JACQUES GUY
March 11, 1946 - August 10, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacques Guy “Silver Fox” on August 10th, 2012 at the age of 66, hours after his 43rd wedding anniversary. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late Raphael and Antonine (Coté) Hurtubise. He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 43 years, Sharon (Bourque). Proud father to Kevin (Amber) and Steven (Chantal). Dear grandad and poppa to Carter, Dylan, and Nyah. Brother of the late Marcel (Denise), late Raymond (Francine) and Monique Dupuis (Hector). He also leaves behind brother-in-laws Dennis (Monique) Bourque, Bryan Bourque, sister-in-law Kim Hopkinson (Bernie) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A tireless worker and armed with a terrific sense of humour, Guy spent his life working in the service and sales industry giving him the opportunity to form many friendships along the way. He worked for Hostess Frito-Lay for 28 years, retiring in 2003. Retirement was short lived as he opened GJ’S Fries in his community that same summer. With the support of his wife he ran his business for almost a decade. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for the caring and loving support from their family, friends, and neighbours. We also wish to thank Guy’s gals, Lucille, Marnie and Barbara for their compassion and wonderful care they showered on him. To our “Special” Marnie who brought him comfort with her caring kindness during his hospital stays, thank you. To CCAC that provided all the wonderful support that made these past two years more bearable for him, thank you. Finally our deep gratitude to Dr. Louise Coulombe and her palliative team including our compassionate and kind nurse Ann that made it possible for Guy to remain in the comforts of his home during this last journey of his life. Family and friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2370 St. Joseph Blvd., Orleans on Thursday August 16, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday August 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the chapel.
